Takarazuka~!

Takarazuka is an amazingly awesome thing that's very hard to explain. the wiki definition is:

Takarazuka - a Japanese all-female musical theater troupe based in Takarazuka, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. Women play all roles in lavish, Broadway-style productions of Western-style musicals, and sometimes stories adapted from shōjo manga and Japanese folktales.

This sums up the idea of it, but definitely not the essence and the magic of it. It's actually a very classy and very popular. I saw my first Takarauka play when I was nine, and I've been in love with the troupes ever since.

As a matter of fact, it was my dream. For about a year. And then I learned how impossible it was. To even be admitted into the SCHOOL to get into the troupe, you must be a top singer and dancer and actor, stunningly beautiful, charismatic. I am, sadly, none of the aformentioned, my two left feet being what REALLY made me give up on this unattainable fantasy.

BUT i still enjoy going to watch them perform! It's really breathtaking.

My personal favorite was the Scarlet Pimpernel

I have this poster in my room~

The amazing thing about the troupe is that the 'male' actors are so convincing and amazing, you have to remind yourself that they are, in fact, women.

Today, we saw Trafalgar! It was pretty cool.

Fell in love more than once in the few hours I was watching it XD

We were also sooooo close from the front! I saw the actors up close!

Had a goood time~ ^~^

Day 5 - Half of the year

June 30th. Half of the year is over. THough this might not be recognized in America, in Japan, it's actually kind of a thing. Not a big deal, or anything, but you have to go to the temple and stuff. You walk through the ring pictured above thrice while chanting something. And of course, there's omikuji! Omikuji is a 'written oracle' that tells you how things are going to go for you, t least until the next year or next time you visit the tmeple or whatever. I'm not entirely sure.
You shake that thing, and wait for a stick to coem out. You then read the number on the stick and take the oracle of that numer.

Rest In Peace, Park Yong Ha......

Day 3- Oh my God, Phones!

Forget shoes. Phones are where it's at (disclaimer: no, i'm totally kidding about the shoes. i need them in my life. but you know what I mean).

I learned very early in life that whatever japan comes up with, the United States will follow a few years later. Granted, they have different needs: Americans have this thing about full QWERTY keyboards for texting , whereas the japanese don't care, because the other kind of keyboard works better for the language.

Have you ever seen a SOLAR cellular phone? I am completely srious. They made it, like, two years ago, too. You stick it by your window, and BOOM it gets charged.

modeled by Satoshi Ohno.

I know. you're jealous, right? They have a series of other phones that are equally awesome.

I was trying to save money, and because i don't actually live in japan, i got the FREE one :D

Light blue ;D

So see, this was like, forever ago. where are we today....? its sad. Do business with KDDI, people XD
